5 products that will make you instantly glow

A handful of products when you need a quick fix

We all know that there is no one 'fix' for all year round healthy, glowing skin. It is just the same as losing weight. We all want that 'secret' to lose a stone in a week, but deep down we know the only way to lose weight is to cut back, eat healthy and exercise and it takes time. It's exactly the same with your skin. You cannot abuse it and still expect flawless, glowing, vibrant skin. Sooner or later those late nights will catch up with you. Those fatty, sugary late night snacks will reflect in your skin. Stay hydrated, have a good skincare routine, get plenty of sleep of of course protect your skin from the sun. So as much as I am sure we would all love to be a skin angel, we're not. A few holiday boozy nights creep in and we look at our refection and it just looks meh. Or for me, you wake up in the morning with somewhere important to go and the person looking back at you is not the one that you want to present to the world. I have quite a few of these mornings, sometimes because of my own self neglect, recently due to our new puppy, who likes to wake us far too early.

There a few key products that I rely on to just give my skin a bit of a boost and a faux glow.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Serum

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow

This is a Hlpha Hydroxy over night serum that resurfaces, hydrates and clarifies dull skin. A good one to put on the night before a big day. It's key ingredients are AHA/BHA, Hyaluronic acid, honey and salicylic acid derived from willow bark. It helps minimise pores and reduce the look of fine lines.

I originally bought this as a "dupe" (slightly less expensive) for Sunday Riley Good Genes, Lactic acid, which you can't buy in the UK and the price tag is crazy.

I apply this before bed and leave it to work it's magic whilst I sleep. You can apply some moisture over the top, but I don't bother. It does burn slightly, but it doesn't last long. I would be careful if you have sensitive skin, it may be a burn a little too much. The morning results really are visible. My skin gleams in the morning as the name suggests a post honeymoon glow :-)

Beauty Kitchen Abyssinian Oil, 5 Minute Miracle Mask

Beauty Kitchen 5 Minute Mask

Another pick me up mask. This one is for the morning. I discovered this at Holland and Barrett. It is meant to draw out dirt, but also hydrate the skin. I can honestly say that it does.

I tend to have a shower and then as I am cleaning my teeth, putting my body cream on I leave this for just 5 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and I can see that my skin drinks it up. My skin feels clean and glowy. This is a wonderful little find.

This handy little tool, is just amazing. I love it! This is a morning product. This needs to be kept in the freezer. overnight. The icy roller works an lymphatic drainage device. Ideally for early morning puffy eyes. Gently roll under the eyes, back and forth. The motion massages out any toxin build up and the cold temperature of between -8 and 2 degrees gently brings any swelling down. It also gives a the rest of the face an amazing facial workout., increasing blood circulation. Your skin is so picked up afterwards. It is like an icy shower after a hang over. Beware though, this really is colWill certainly wake you up!

Fake Tan

Fake it

My final tip is Fake Tan. Simple, but effective. Every few days I apply a facial tanner to my face as I go to bed and I wake up with an instant healthy glow. Don't worry, if you get the right one you won't look like an Oompa Loompa, it will just even out your skin tone and cover a few blemishes. My two favourites are Tan Luxe and Tropic Sun Drops. Only problem with this is that your pillow will become orange over time.

So, these are just a few of the things that I do on a regular basis when I want a quick fix or a sudden boost to my skin. I will keep searching for any more tips, let me know if you have any that you'd like to share with me.
